About Ms. Price

I grew up in Mesquite and graduated from Mesquite High School in 1984 - Go Skeeters! I began kindergarten at the Little Red Schoolhouse followed by Florence Black Elementary and then Agnew Middle School before MHS.

I completed my bachelor's degree at Texas A&M (College Station) and Tarleton State University (part of the A&M system) in government and journalism in 1990. I spent 2 years working for a state representative in Austin and 12 years in banking before making a huge career move in 2004. I am certified to teach Early Childhood through 4th grade and I have a Masters degree in Elementary Education for Reading.

When I'm not at school I like to spend time with my family and friends. I enjoy being crafty, painting, reading, and listening to music. Just let me be CREATIVE! I'm especially fond of songs that have an inspiring and positive message. When my TV is on, it's usually tuned to a music station.

I share my home with two fur kids: Gracie and Isabell. They're always sad when I leave for school, but happy to great me when I return home. Gracie was given to me by a friend who also named her for me, after her fur color. Isabell is a five year old calico who is quite spunky. The two of them get along pretty well most of the time, but Gracie is definitely the one in charge.

I usually vacation at the beach every summer, but this year I'm changing things up. I plan on spending my Winter Break snow skiing in New Mexico. I'm pretty sure I won't venture down any Black Diamond slopes. I was pretty good at it many years ago, but I'm not going to tempt fate now and the possibility of me injuring myself. I know it will be a great family vacation and so different for us.

My niece, Ashleigh, will be a sophomore at Abilene Christian University this fall. She's loving college and seems to be adjusting to the academic climate pretty well. She changed her major from interior design to business management and will be adjusting to having a roommate for the first time ever IN HER LIFE. She has no siblings, so this will be HUGE!! I know she will be fine and I look forward to watching her continue to bloom. GO WILDCATS!
